49 and above are no longer supported on Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8. If you are still on one of these unsupported platforms, we encourage you to move to a newer operating system to ensure that you continue to receive the latest Chrome versions and features. The latest version of Google Chrome will not run on a Mac running OS X 10.7.5. Starting April 2016, Chrome will continue to function on these platforms but will no longer receive updates and security fixes. Today, we’re announcing the end of Chrome’s support for Windows XP, as well as Windows Vista, and Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8, since these platforms are no longer actively supported by Microsoft and Apple. When that happens, perhaps we can advertise Firefox to Chrome users on those operating systems looking for a browser that will still receive security updates. Here’s what they had to say back in November: btw, Chrome plans to drop support for Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 (and Windows XP and Vista) in April. This is something that Google announced back in April 2015, but they didn’t mention a specific date until last November.
Google is ending Chrome’s support for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8.
